Thank you, Melie.

I have sent a copy of my letter for all of you to see on this link which Melie provided above. I don't know if it will do any good but anything out there would help more than it is know.

I have it listed under: To: Bill Ford
Subject: Mr. Ford, can I ask you a question?

I have the same problem with my f-150. Rear end whines, they replaced all the bearings and gears and drives shaft but it's still there. I love my truck but I'm really sick of the noise. Good luck, you'll need it.

I had the rear end whine also, they were going to replace the ring and pinion but decided just to replace the rear axle. I can honestly say that this is one of about 15 problems on my truck that they actually fixed. Whine is gone. Hope this helps. I sure do feel everyone's pain.

Ford Customer Service and Dealer Service - LOUSY!!!

I had, out of courtesy, dropped my dealer service mgr, dealer principle and Ford Motor Co a letter asking them to fix the truck or replace it. Two weeks later, NO ONE had even given me the COURTESY of calling and telling me there is nothing they will do. They haven't even responded.

...so today I sent out three more copies except this time I have sent them Certified, Return Receipt Requested and Restricted Receipt. This way the actual owner and serivce mgr HAVE to sign for them. I stated that if I did not get a responce on week from today, I would proceed.

I would have thought that the owner or mgr would have at least called me and tried to say something like it being a characteristic or something like that. ...but no!!!

We will see what happens...

I knew these guys at Rochester Ford sucked, but I didn't realize that they were that callous and clueless.

When I cruise my LIghtning thru their lot, I'll flip them off for ya.

If you ever get satisfaction on this matter, try Zumbrota Ford or Airlake Ford in Lakeville.

Juan Bueringer, the ex-twin pitcher (Senor Smoke) is a salesman there.

Thanx, Jaymz.

As of now Zumbrota Ford will NOT service my truck because they know of the history of it and they have already told their Ford rep that they will ask me to go back to the orginating dealer.

Though, I will take you up on the offer of handin' them a bird or something of value.

Thanx,
Rick

Yellow,

You might not want to plan on receiving a reply from your registered letter.
They can refuse the letter, it will then go back to the post office for a 2 week stay, then off to the twlight zone.
We have sent many registered letter to deadbeat companies who don't pay their bills here at work, and unfortunatly thats the way it works.
And from the signs of it, the deadbeats at the dealership won't sign for it.

YellowFX Dude, I’ve read your postings, and I feel your pain. I had a lemon law problem with VW a few years back with my wife’s last car, needless to say we’re never getting another one of those German Engineering marvels....

But seriously, don’t hurt your chances of getting your truck fixed by blasting Ford too much...

Ford Customer Service and Dealer Service - - Rocks!!

I would show up at another dealer, tell them you don't like the service mgr. if they ask why you don't go back to the other dealer, and have them fix it. Ford warranty is Ford warranty. Any dealer should be required to honor a warranty claim. No dealer of origin BS.

P.S. What rear do you have? Posi? Ratio? Is one more susceptable to this than another?

From what I hear from this board, there are NOT very many problems with howling out there with the 3.73 ls. I don't think you should let my problem deture you. I would order this same exact truck and take the chance before I go elsewhere (different mfg) I love my truck even with the issues. I just want it taken care of.

I just got a lemon, that's all. (Damn, should have figured that out with all that yellow paint, huh?) Just kidding, would order same truck again.

I wouldn't say that you got a lemon. There are alot of trucks out there with the exact same problem. I have been told that Ford is working on the problem, for whatever that means. I know it sucks I have the same whine. I'm self employed and my truck has been in for a total of three different times for six days when they replaced the bearings, driveshaft, and gears. It costs me a bunch when I don't have my truck for work. I feel your pain , there are alot of us in the same situation. Good Luck

Do you guy's have a Lemon Law in your State. I would check into it if you haven't already. I had my truck in to my dealer for service recently and the invoice had a sticker on it that said; " You will be recieving a satisfaction survey soon from Ford, if for any reason you can not rate us as a "10", contact your service advisor immediately." No problems, they fixed everything.
