Navigator HID

What type of bulb does the navigator have? Could it be put on our F150? How much $$$ would it run for? Could these be a "simple" mod? Anyone got HID on a 04 F150?

I was also Pondering the same Question! I think it should be an easy swap! You should talk to the guys at the Dealership and see what they say. Does anyone know if this can be done?

You can get a generic kit, or probabley use the one from the actual navigator. It's not a cheap mod or anything. Expect around 500-800 bucks. It's not simply a bulb, it's mainly the ballasts. Plus the navigator has two sets, one is driving lights, the other is the brights. That is around twice as much because HID lights don't have a built in brights function.

Odds are, best bet would be to get an HID kit for your light. You just have to drill a few holes and everything plugs in.

It is possible, but definately not easy at all.

The Navigator and Aviator trucks that have HID's basically have a water tight storage compartment inside the headlight where the bassast mounts. Our F-150's have no such compartment.

The HID bulb itself also has no rubber/silicone o-ring on it or any other type of weather proofing like our bulbs do because the entire back side of the headlight assembly on vehicles that have HID's are sealed.

I personally have a set of Navigator and Aviator HID bulbs and ballasts and work in a shop where I would be able to fabricate anything I could think of. I still would personally just buy the HID conversion kit. I know it's not out for our trucks yet.

The Lincoln Mark LT will have a HID option. These headlights will be swappable with our F-150's.

I think HID express is getting pressure from the Feds on HID kits. Aftermarket HID kits are supposed to be illegal I believe.

I'd seriously question the aftermarket kits & i would have to see one in action before I'd try one myself. Ford and Sylvania spent tons of R&D on the H13 bulb and the reflector in the "fiddy" so you may screw it up with a non-oem kit.

The Lincoln Mark LT HID's will be the best option. Get to know a Lincoln parts guy ASAP or take your F150 to them for service to build a relationship so you can get a deal on a set later.

I dunno... parts from any dealer are going to cost a fortune.. I'd put money on $1k+ for HID from the dealer...

Sign me up for an illegal conversion kit!

I guessing in the same ballpark there dz. I'm sure they're going to be VERY expensive.

I don't often think about my 2001 King Ranch that I traded in on my 2005 KR.... until I'm driving down the road at night. Gosh I miss my Xenarcs.

Hey - I really want HID's, don't take me wrong here.

HIDexpress just told me early next year for the H13 kit & I'd go for the aftermarkets if I knew for sure they were a solid product.

Xenarcs were great. I had them in my 01 and it is the one thing I really miss.

I've got a good friend who is parts guy at Linclon dealer. I'll get the skinny on the Mark LT lights and make sure I post all info I can.

Your probably right dzervit. I bet it'll be at least $800 to $1,000 for a set of them. We'll see what dealer cost is though.
