For everyone that has put in aftermarket stereos. I just purchase the Eclipse AVN2454 double din navigation unit. What kits have you used to install doubledin radios and wireing harness?

I got the Metra double-din kit for an 04 F150 from Circuit City. I got the wiring harness kits from Crutchfield, I think they are made by Scosche (spelling?).

 

Were you guys able to keep the steering wheel controls to adjust the volume?

 

I got my stereo and the install kit from Crutchfield. You will need to get a PAC SWI-X so that you can still use the volume controls on the steering wheel (it's pretty easy to install).

 

ahh I see, but dang 60 bucks.. it's almost not worth it, lol.

For the Eclipse units... look into the SWI-ECL... this is SPECIFICALLY for the Eclipse units. Just confirm that your HU has a 6-pin connector on the back...
