Why the 2004 F150?

The sacks of concrete from Home Depot in the trunk made the tailpipes drag the ground. My kids kept complaining that the rear windows wouldn't roll all the way down and they kept kicking the back of my seat because there wasn't room for their legs. The car bottomed out on the rutted dirt road to my favorite paintball field. My wife, who drives our Explorer, didn't like sitting so low to the ground so upgrading to the truck was an easy sell. Why did I go for the 2004 F-150? I've had a history of success with Ford products; I love the looks of the new body style; I love the added safety and crash worthiness; and although the F-150 may get beaten by its competitors in specific categories I think it is the best overall pickup package on the market.

GREAT POST ! ! !
My dealer has been a friend of the family for like 40 years or so. He treats us right on all the vehicles we get from him. Plus, my family has had lots of different makes/models of vehicles in the past. We've always gone back to Ford after trying something different simply because they were the best built and most reliable for us.

When I was looking at trucks - mind you I had been a sedan driver for nearly a decade - I was amazed at how soft the trucks I test drove felt. I drove the Tundra, Titan, Silverado, and Ram. I honestly liked parts of each truck. I liked the RAM engine and power, The Tundra was pretty solid but felt like a dog, the Titan also seemed to have a good engine but I couldn't put one together that met my needs - very limited buying options on the Titan! The Silverado also felt soft and underpowered. I think what clinched it for me was the overall combination of looks, feel, power and options. The Ford F150 felt more like the trucks I used to drive with the right blend of ammenities.
the biggest proof for me though has been in my experience AFTER purchase. I like it more and more everyday!
