Question Fabtech 6" Availability

Hi folks,

I have been out of the country for a spell and did not have the opportunity to read f150online.com

I have been waiting for the 6" Fabtech lift to make it out to the market. Hopefully, it has in the past couple of months. Is it? Are there any pics with installed kits yet?

Thanks,
Termite

Hello Termite,

My truck is currently in the shop getting the 6" Fabtech installed with new wheels & tires. Hopefully, they will be done with the truck today.

I too had been waiting for the kit and had called Fabtech in Feb. They anticipated it coming towards the end of the month, but of course they lied. Anyways, they gave the name of the nearest dealer who would be getting some of the first lifts to hit the market. The store was 4 Wheel Parts in Burbank, CA. They put me on a waiting list and said it would be another month. My local shop called me last week and said they were having the lift shipped to them. Finally, last Thursday they said they had it in their store.

I am planning on putting the pictures on the forum as soon as I get my truck back!

You might want to call Fabtech and ask where the nearest dealer around you might have or is getting the lift. I went to their website and called their support number.

Thanks 04fordman.

Do you mind sharing what you paid for the kit?

I can't wait to see the results!

04Fordman,

1st of all pix please when you get a chance. Secondly, I'm curious why you chose the Fabtech over the Procomp. I'm leaning towards the Procomp since it doesn't require any cutting/trimming as the the most recent 4wheeler magazine describes. Also, how are the shocks setup? Are the stock coilovers replaced or is it a spacer like the Procomp? Thanks.

Well....Sorry it took sooo long. Verizon DSL finally got me going today. I hate that company, but oh well. Anyways, here are some pictures of my baby.... it was the 6" inch Fabtech, Blackfoot wheels, and 315/70's/17 BFG All Terrains. I have since added the Airraid airfilter kit and a chrome exhaust. For those of you wondering about MPG...it sucks...I'm getting about 10-11 MPG overall...and at $2.43 (+)(-)..it hurts....but, I LOVE DRIVING MY TRUCK...I don't think anyone else in my area has one...I love it when people turn their heads and check out my truck. I've even had people ask me if this is an F-250.

PS. it anyone is wondering..I had all the items installed by the businesses where I purchased the items.

Check it out!

04FordMan! - Sweeeet set up! I like the way the front of the Fabtech looks! I almost went with those wheels also. The Evo's on mine seemed to match the ProComp set up better though.

I like that truck! Alot!
Here's my set up.

Tim - I love the looks I get in mine too! Makes the friggen gas fees worth it!

The truck looks great 04fordman! Do you have the 3.73 gears? I wonder if the 4.10 would the way to go? How does the power and torque compare to when it was stock?

I doubt very seriously that Fabtech "lied" about the availability of the kit. They had a hard time filling the backorders that they had, so before the first piece was built, they had already has several hundred sold. Anyhow, if you compare the ProComp and the Fabtech side by side, and piece for piece, it is obvious why one would pick the Fabtech. The parts are better built, (all built by Fabtech, not the case w/ most manufacturers) the kit is more complete, and finally, the ride is as good or better than the factory ride on almost all kits.

Sticker Steve,

I do have the 3.73 gears. I've been thinking about having it re-geared, but i'm not sure on that yet. Before I put the Airraid kit the power and torque was not too good, but after I had the kit put on the power and torque came back immediately. It almost feels as if it has more power now then when it was stock.

That's good to know. I bet when the programmer comes out we will be able to get better mileage even with the bigger tires and will be able to adjust the spedo ourselves. I'll have to make sure and get all the goodies before doing this. 10 -12 sucks but isn't all that bad. I only get 12-14 now.

Fordman:

If you don't mind me asking, I saw that you lived in the central coast and you have vreeland ford plates on your truck. I live in Paso robles, and I think I might of seen your truck before you lifted it. What town do you live in? I would like to see what the 6" looks like in person, just curious as to where you are from??? Also, which shops did the installs? If you are happy with them, I might consider taking my truck there for work, since I am not too happy with my installer at the moment...

Thanks,
Chris
