a little help...

Ok guys, My truck was built last week sometime and I'm assuming it will be here in a few weeks. I'm getting a little paranoid about the vibration problem so those of you who have it, give me some advice on what to look for, I'm planning on asking to take a test drive of at least 20 miles on various roads before I sign on the line (I think that is reasonable). Any advice is appreciated! Anyone in the know if Ford is producing less trucks now with the vibration than they were a few months ago? I also heard rumors that it might be more prevalent with the Limited slip rear axel, any thoughts?

My 1st thought is "you need to relax"......

I had the rear end shudder issue. Took it to the dealer. I no longer have a rear end shudder problem.

No vibes here - built Mar 10, 2004. I too say, relax and enjoy it when it arrives. 99% chance it'll be trouble free and you'll be burning through gas before you know it. I'm assuming/hoping you bought yours from Van Bortel. Great deal (always) and very nice folks. I drive 550 miles to pick mine up from Jeff C. there.

yep, ordered it from van bortel, they have a great reputation here. I would have bought it from Jeff, but I just walked in one night before I even found FTE and all Jeff's good advice. Thanks for the advice, I surfed around to the other big 3 forums and the toyota one as well and looked at all the problems with the other brands too, made me feel better.

Build date 12/03. No issues whatsoever.

I would highly recommend the test drive. I walked in and signed the papers after my special order came in. It had 4 miles on it. I got into the truck afterwards and was thinking, "Holy Crap! I just spent $30,000 on this truck and I don't know if the damn thing cranks!!". I know that Ford would have backed up their product if it did come to that, but still...weird feeling.

again...no issues here. 4500 miles.
