Interior choice help?

I have a few more days until my Screw Lariat order reaches the point of no return. I've been going back-and-forth over tan interior vs. the black (capts). Although I have not seen the black in person, i'm leaning that way based on the many wonderful picture on this site (post more!!). I know its a personal decision... but ideas on how/why you chose would be great.

BIO:
Age: Late Twenties
Dog:yellow Lab
Kids: 0
Activities: Saltwater Fishing and Beach stuff (lots of sand)

Thanks!
Jake

I would go with the Tan, I think it looks more modern, and at the beach the tan will not get as hot.

I have the black, and I like it very much. Of course, it's winter! I've heard several people complain that their blue jeans' dye wears off onto the tan leather. I haven't seen that happen with the black. I have the dark toreador red exterior color, and the black interior looks very nice. With that exterior color, I'm not sorry I chose black leather captains chairs. Pictures are in my gallery.

I also go boating, fishing, go to the beach, tailgating, etc. have a 1 year old daughter, no pets ...at first I was concerned with the tan because I though it will be difficult to clean (but its not) .. I am happy I went with the tan because any spot or dirt on it I clean right away ... I think now maybe with the black you will not see it until is really bad .... also I live in FL and Black was toooo hot for me ..... I decided to have black outside ....

like you said .. its all personal choices ...

I think you're my long lost brother.

26, chocolate lab, beach in summer, duck holes in winter and no kids...that I know of

I have the Dk red with the tan cloth interior. I like it. If I had it to do over again, I would have gone with Gray leather. Tan shows everything. spill something on it (or leave the G-D sunroof open when it rains ) and it's a b!tch to clean.

What color is the exterior?

I am partial to the grey. You still get the black/grey dash and black carpet. Just the seats are grey so you don't burn your bottom. I am not sure if grey is available in the Lariat.

I like black, but the only thing I didn't like about the black in this case was how the wood-look dash pieces seemed to clash with black. It seemed to go better with the tan. My tan looks great when it's clean, but yet..it is a little more difficult to keep clean. I also like how the tan doesn't seem empty. It's hard to see the details of the interior with the black. It just seems the tan brings out all the details and let's you see how pretty the truck really is inside.

I promise you that 3-5 years later you will be VERY happy that you chose black leather. You can just wipe it down with a damp cloth and it is clean if you spill anything or your dog slobber all over the seats. When you want to make it all pretty just get some leather cleaner and conditioner and it will sparkle.

The thing about the tan leather is all of what I said is true, except in 3-5 years you will have blue jean stains and all other kinds of discolorations. No matter what anyone says the Tan will change colors just from the wear and tear. Not every one gets the blue jean stains. It just gets a lot darker than what it was when you bought it. If you clean the leather seats very good very often you can keep the discoloration to a minimum. Only you know how much time you have to keep up with your seats and the conditioning of them.

If you like the look of both of the colors go with black because in the long run it will look better and when it is time to trade the truck in for the next model your interior will look great. I have black leather in my SUV and my F-150 and I promise you that black leather was probably more important to me than the color of the exterior.

yellow Lab and black equals No No.

Yeah there is leather seats but the black carpet will show all of that dog hair.

I would respectfully disagree. Just like anything else, a little preventative maintenence will keep the tan looking like new for years. I doubt very much the tan will discolor. Tan is sharp - especially when contrasted to a black/tan SCAB

If you are even the slightest bit worried about your seats getting stained, you should get black. First time I put my dogs in the back, one of them barfed on the seat. No stains after a quick clean up. Low maintainence and low worry is a no brainer for me.
It's been in the 90's on a couple days this year, and the seats don't get that hot. I have tint on all around too so that probably helps. In fact they are cooler and more comfortable than the grey vinyl seats in my old truck.

I am pickin up what you guys are layin down. If you must have a Lariat, tan looks much better, but I saw a demo with tan and it looked terrible. Carpets had gotten very dirty and seats were grungy. I changed my mind and went with FX4 and black leather. I like the dark dash and black seats, also my black lab's hair is not noticed

I owned a Corvette several years back with white leather and very light carpet, and you couldn't pay me to repeat that experience.

I loved it, it looked great, but it was a nightmare to keep looking perfect.

If you are going to carry a dog in the cab, forget about the light interior fast. It will be trashed in a heartbeat.
