Angry Abs

Does ABS engage in reverse......I had a bad experience during the last snow of the season. Very icy underneath and as usual I backed down my 45 degree driveway and WOW what a ride. Brakes to the floor with BOTH FEET....no ABS. So after I got my heart restarted I drove down the street forward and hit the brakes...ABS worked fine!!

Any thoughts here.

Greg

It should, since the ABS doesn't know which direction you are travelling. All systems go through a self test at initial start up and then at x mph (I believe 7) before being operational. Chances are you did not achieve this speed in your driveway, and probably would have experienced the same thing if you were going forward.
