My first post on this forum.

Hello. I have been reading the message boards for a while since we got my f150. I am probably the youngest 04 owner on the boards and decided to tell you all a story.

Another kid who owns a 2004 dodge 1500 hemi express decided to park right square in front of me today at school. Grille to grille. What was the fool trying to prove? He has nothing on my 5.4L lariat supercrew. dodge=cheap scum.

by the way i will get pictures up sometime later.

Well, according to his profile he turned 17 a few months ago so, I guess we are talking about 'High' school.
Different parts of the country have varying degrees of socio-economic groups. In this thread, a couple of California high school age drivers park their 2004 trucks in a head to head showdown.

In South Florida, high schoolers would wear a bag over their head if they had to ride in a 'vegatable/fruit' picking, pickup truck.
I sure some cannot afford a Lexus or Mercedes and are forced to drive a new pickup but, these kids would park in the Teachers' parking lot to avoid the scorn and ridicule.

MAN OH MAN.............I wish I had your parents. A 2004 Screw Lariat..........dude you are talking almost a $40K vehicle if not more. WTF. My first car was a 75 Gremlin and that was 2 years ago..............Ok, not 2 years ago, but my point is made. Get the silver spoon out of your mouth and have the butler take your pics and post them.

When I was in high school I didn't have a car.
I didn't even have a bike!
All I had was a skateboard.

When I took my date to the prom, she fell off three times.

My first car was a '69 Torino I bought from a cop in town for $200. It was fun carousing all over town and having the police beep their horns and flash their lights in greeting... Until they found out he sold the car!

I am only 22, (and no my truck has nothing to do with my parents) but anyways, my first car was an 84 buick skylark. Now talk about vibration problems. I think I got big and played hockey from all the damn pushing I did to get that thing where I wanted to go. I thought you were supposed to drive cars, not push them. Besides I think it weighed more than the new 150.

are you paying the bill or your parents spiro??

if your parents are paying the bill I hope you don't do something stupied and reck it. People just don't respect stuff as much if its given too them. But if you have to work to get it you respect it a whole lot more.

my first truck was a 57 chevy truck. drove around with the bed off with home made mudflaps nailed to a 2x4 the exhaust was held on by wire. in the summer I had 2 55 AC < 2 windows down at 55 mph >

Geeez, i grew up in So. Cal. worked a part time job so i could buy a 1967 Mustang while in high school (1976).
Before i saved up enough money, had to walk 10 miles in the snow bare footed to get there.

Yup, My 1st car was a '67 Mustang. Bought it for $900. It had a weak clutch, the valves were almost burnt up and the front end squeked all the time. I fixed every thing on it myself and paid for it all. I loved that car even tho it didn't have any AC which got me out of being the driver alot in Summer.
Things are different these days. When my son turned 16 I bought him a brand new "98 Dakota. He saved $3500 from a summer job to pay the down payment and I payed the monthly payment and insurance. It was the best and safest thing we could afford and the piece of mind from knowing he was on the streets of today with reliable transportation was more than worth it.

Gezzzz guys, give the kid a break. Rejoice that a young pup from California purchased a vehicle from an American company – his truck has got to be only one of a few American vehicles at his school.

Now the concern is this… Which one of the kids will wrap their truck around a tree while racing; the Dodge owner or Spiros123?

Well, Im happy for him and I hope he bought it and respects it. Dont want to see any of our younger folks out racing and getting hurt or worse. My first vehicle was a used 74 Mercury Capri, not a bad little car but it wasnt the car I had picked for myself. Even though I was paying for it my parents wouldnt let me get the V8 AMC Javelin I wanted. Could be the reason Im still here. Love you Mom and Dad.

You guys should fight behind the bleachers after 6th period.

But seriously, you are a lucky kid. I agree with the others here, don't crash. Especially when your friends are in the truck because it's embarassing.
