Split Rear Exhaust on an F150 SuperCrew 4x4
I had a custom setup with dual flowmaster 40 series and aluminized dual 2.5" pipes with straight back exits installed on mine. It sounds great but I don't know if there was any change in performance.

I could order the Borla online and if there is no welding invloved I could install it myself but if there is welding then I will have to have someone else do it. Does anyone know how complicated the Borla is to install? Does the spare tire have to be removed or relocated at all ?
Dale...I've been waiting since last fall for Magnaflow's stainless steel dual split rear (I had their system on my '97...luved it), but no luck so far. At $555, Borla is now available: for more info, go to search or see these threads:

DaleF150,
The Borla is very easy to install, and there is no welding. It took me less than an hour to install on my truck. Others have been saying in the one to two hour range. The spare tire DOES NOT have to be removed. This system is well thought out.

I agree with everything that Grayflare said. I had purchased the Borla Exhaust on eBay for $554.95. They shipped it right to my door (that price includes shipping).
There is absolutely NO WELDING or DRILLING involved.
You have nothing to remove. You do have to install on bracket to hold up the Driver's side pipe but that is simple. The hole which is used is ALREADY in the frame of the truck. Everything is provided for you.
If you would like to do this, let me know. I have access to an alignment lift and I would gladly put as many pics in my gallery to help you with the install. I can walk under the truck and get as close and as clear as you would like to help out. Not a problem. Just let me know.
I am nowhere close to being mechanically inclined but the system was very easy to install. There is only one clamp to remove to take off the old exhaust in its entirety. Make sure you spray the rubber holders with lube.
The new exhaust will come in about 8-9 peices and the instructions are very simple. Took about an hour for me. Might take a little longer if you don't have a lift to take the truck completely off the ground.
I would deffinitely recommed this, though.

YellowFX4 and grayflare thanks for the information about the install. I don't have a lift but from what you guys say I think I can handle it. I will shop around and see what kind of a deal I can come up with.
Again, thank you guys for the information.

This one states that you can look around and if you find it any cheaper, call him, he will match it.
This is the guy I got mine from. Call him if you have questions. He answered all of mine and I would highly recommend him.
Look around, see whats out there and then make the best informed decision you can.

Dale, I have the Borla 140087 also. Very nice. I agree with grayflare and yellowfx4screw, not a hard install, but remember to lube those grommets up real good. I didn't have a lift either. You will need to jack up the truck pretty high to get that old muffler out. It's bigger than you think and all one piece.
Good Luck, let us know if you have nay questions.

Like GrayFlare stated, it is a lot easier if you can get the rear up in the air on jackstands. I don't know how you would get the old exhaust out without cutting. Hope you can find a better deal, but right now the lowest price is $555 including shipping on Ebay and from AJUSA in San Diego. I went with AJUSA as they are an Borla authorized reseller even though Borla told me they would honor a warranty on an Ebay purchased system as long as I had a bill of sale. The Borla is a 1st rate product.
DaleF150, I have an idea!
DaleF150, you buy the Borla kit, bring it up to my place. I'll help you install it. That way, we can tell lies about our trucks, and I can see and hear (in person) what this Borla exhaust sounds like. I would like to order one, but I want to get a good look at it first.
I would really like to know if the dual and the single outlet sound the same, if they do, I'd likely go with the single exit.
