Going to buy an '04 F150 FX4 Just thought I'd get some thoughts.

1) Vibration - This has me concerned. I test drove 4 F150's. 1 had the vibration - a 2004 lariat.

2) Moonroof - Owners, worth the money?

3) Trailer mirrors - I don't pull a very long trailer, but the heated feature might be handy

4) Rustproofing - Dealer Options (Scams?) Or oil guarding.

My dealer is currently offering me 700 bucks (Canadian) over dealer cost and the best trade I've been offered out of the three Ford dealers I've been too.

Anybody like to offer an X-Plan my way?

I have a '04 FX4 SuperCab, 2000 miles. No complaints. No vibration problems. I have the heated mirrors. They work great in the Fog. I can't comment on ice since I'm in South Texas.

 

If you're paying $700 over invoice, I wouldn't enrich your dealer any further with #4...unless you're a very charitable person.

 

I disagree about the implication in the last post. If you're getting the truck for $700 over invoice (not a bad deal) and getting top dollar for your trade-in, than you're probably making out really well.

 

Droog... I live near Hamilton.... I just read there is 1000$ of free Ford accessories.. which would include the moonroof.
I have the rails... I could take them or leave them.

As for the heated mirrors....well worth the money. The ice is gone in no time.

As for vibration... I guess it is hit and miss... my FX4 was built 02/05 and vibrates. I haven't had it in to the dealer yet so we will see if it can be fixed.
