Talking New Stereo System, Im Sirius

Just installed all new stereo head unit, Sirius tuner, Music Keg, Amp and speakers. Heres the list of components:

Kenwood DDX-7015 Double DIN DVD receiver
Kenwood KTC-SR902 Sirius Sat. tuner
Kenwood KHD-C710 Music Keg
Infinity 50.5cs Kappa Series Components (front)
Infinity 572.5cf Kappa Series 5X7 two-way (rear)
Fockford Fozgate 551X 70 watt 4 channel amp

Installed it all myself, took about two days, but well worth the work. Havent found a sub setup Im happy with yet, will probably have to build my own box like others have done.So far, even without subs, it sounds great. I love the look of the double DIN unit in the dash. Everything is hidden except the head unit, so the look is clean. You can see pictures in my gallery below under (Interior). Let me know what you think, Ill be out in the truck.

great looking system! How did you mount the Double-DIN, did you have a mounting kit or fab one yourself?

Thanks for the compliments to all.

Wolfman, I used the metra double-DIN installation kit for a 2004 Ford F150. I bought the kit from Circuit City.

I've seen it on the net for $1550 US, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't come out until April... so maybe they are taking orders.

A high end stereo dealer near me is taking orders at $2700 Canadain.

I don't think anyone has a CD/MP3/DVD AND Nav built into a single DIN unit... there is only a external small "brain" that needs to be mounted.
THe cool thing about the Avic is with the optional rear camera, when you put it in R the camera comes on the screen....for those with out reverse sensing (me) it would make parking the rig much easier.

Yeah that seems pretty cool. I rather Kenwood products because of the Sirius and the look. If all else fails I would look into it though. I am really leaning torwards getting the review camera too. If I get the dvd\navigation and montior, I will for surely get a review camera.

larryj357,

Bought it from Crutchfield, the head unit was 1399.99, and the Sirius tuner was free with the head unit for a limited time, all you have to buy is the antenna. Didnt get the nav. unit, but Crutchfield has it priced at 1499.99.

bigd999,

Yes this is my first experience with Sirius, and so far I really like it.

Nice selection of equipment. I've been considering that same Kenwood multimedia headunit, are you happy with it?

I am getting a double din cd/dvd/mp3 player, navigation unit put in next week. It is an Eclipse AVN 2454. Eclipse has three units, one that plays DVDs with a small screen ($1600), one that has a 6.5" screen with navigation ($2300), and one that has a 20 gig hard drive built into it, with a 6.5" screen ($2999). I wanted the unit with the hard drive, but could not afford it, besides, I am a travellign salesman and could use the navigation. These prices are suggested retail, so you could find someone to sell them to you a little cheaper... I did.

Great looking system, by the way!! I am having 4 JL Audio 6 1/2" subs put under the rear seat of my S-Crew. They sounded great in a ported box in the back of my Exploder, I'll see how they sound under the seat next week.

skicrave,

So far I love the Kenwood head unit. Works flawlessly, has a great picture, easy to use (after learning the novel that came with it) and sounds fantastic. I would have to give this unit two
