Kenwood unit

I just got the Kenwood 7015 receiver. What type of mounting bracket did you use to install the unit? did you have to make them or were they purchased?

Nice setup Grayflare:

Did those Kappa's come with the 6x8 adapter kit or did you have to buy that? If you bought it, where from?

thorin,

I bought the speakers from Crutchfield and they supply the adapters free with purchase of speakers.

Tweeter/Crossover Installs

Just did the same Kenwood install about three weeks ago but never changed the speakers and was looking for some advice...

1. I don't have tweeters in the front doors and figure I'll need some type of adapter to mount new tweeters. Is this an easy purchase somewhere or do I need to manufacture something?

2. How about suggestions for mounting the crossover boxes in the front doors?

Thanks all.

Scott.

Question about the DDX7015

Weird scenario for anyone with the DDX7015:

When I play a CD and set the EQ to "Natural", the unit sounds great. When I then switch the source to Tuner I'm not so happy with the sound so I set the EQ to "Top 40". When I go back to CD, the sound is not the same as when I left it. It sounds much worse. If I go to look at the EQ it still says "Natural". Can you set the EQ for each source separately or does changing the EQ for one source effect the other? The screen still reflects the original selection but the sound has definitely changed.

Thanks again for any help!

There is a way to compensate for the different sources, but I think that is just line level (volume). It makes sense to be able to set different EQ's for each source.

I haven't tried it. Did you ever figure it out?
