Talking drives nice

When I saw this thread, I had to drive one (5.5 SCAB) and luckily the dealership near my house had one. I've driven both the 04 SCAB and SCREW and I have to say that I really like the way the SCAB (5.5 bed) handles. I pulled into a parking lot on my test drive and tried to find the tightest spot to sneak my way into. I must say that the shorter wheelbase with the 5.5 bed really makes the SCAB very nimble (unlike the SCREW).

- Ride quality was great with both. Both were very quiet. Those of you with pre-2003 F150s know what I'm talking about.
- Electronic throttle is tough to get used to. I don't like the hesitation.
- The audiophile system has MUCH to be desired. I think I'll stick with aftermarket equipment.
- I'm coming from an 01 SCREW so the 5.5 bed in the SCAB doesn't bother me at all (vs. the 6.5 bed).
- If I go with the SCAB, I will miss the full sized rear seats for passenger capacity, but then again, I rarely have people in the back seats anyway.

I'm still going to wait till at least 05 to pull the trigger though.
Happy St. Patricks Day,
Grish

Thanks for the input - grishfish

I was hoping someone could give a comparision on those 2 models!

Happy St. Pat's day to you too!

Anyone else driving or has driven a SCAB with a 5.5 box? PRO's and CON's are welcome!

I guess I can't post pics directly on this forum, but if you look at FTW, and do a search for 2004's in the gallery section, you'll see my 04 SCab with the 5.5' bed 2wd.
