Stainless exhaust system on '04?

The Ford brochure states "Stainless steel exhaust system (major components)". When under the truck changing oil, I noted what appeared to be SS exhaust parts, but with the road grime, etc. I couldn't be sure. Today, I cleaned about 10 inches of the tailpipe tip and it took on the appearance of brushed SS like the Gibson dual rear SS outlets on my previous '97.

Does anybody know what "components" are SS per Ford's brochure?

Hmmm...one of the rare 'gotchas' on this well-informed forum.

At any rate, I am going to assume that most of the '04's exhaust system from the cat back is stainless steel and perhaps save some money on aftermarket systems...why replace one SS system with another is durability is a prime motive?

My 04 Supercrew Lariat was built in August 03 and it definitely doesn't have a stainless exhaust. I just ordered a split cat back stainless exhaust from Borla yesterday.
