Has anyone else found this? The shiny black metal strip between the driver sider and passenger window of my Scab is starting to come off. Check the picture... My truck is only 5 mos old.

You need to see the dealer about that problem.On ford vehicles i have owned in the past this part needed to be replaced.They either discolor or fall off.I think it just clips on.The last one i had replaced was on a winstar at 35,785 miles. It was a no charge item.

Mine is doing the same exact thing and it is only 3 months old. Have it schedule to go in Tuesday for repair. Can't wait to see what else loosens up during the hot summer months.

 

I recall an earlier thread stating that an adhesive failed under this part...a simple warranty issue.

 

Right rear door

My daughter fell asleep one night on the way home. when she got out of the back she did not close the door all the way (the back cabdoor/ it was semi latched) the next day i opened the passenger side door and it pulled/bent the black covering on the back cab door. When the back cab door is not closed tightly the doors make contact ( I recreated this scenario ) So I went on the driver side to see if this same thing could happen (NO ) They still have about 1/8 in, gap

Took it to the dealer and they orderd the black covering for the right side back cab door . I told them that these doors should not be able to touch even if the back door is not cosed tightly ,they don't on the driver side? He tookit back to the body shop and they said they will ajust the doors when they fix the black covering. ( I used some double sided emblem tape to fix it for now! it 's not that noticeable unless you know it's bent). it also chiped the very top corner of the font door too. They said they would fix that too.

As of now they have the new trim and I am taking it in for repair this week.

Thanks for reposting my original thread. Unfortunately several months later I am still waiting for this part to come in. They ordered it once and the new part had a huge dent in it. Since you have to bend the ***** out of the old one to get it off. I am now stuck with a huge dent in my pass side door trim.

It seems that these parts are a;ways on back order and take a long time to get.

Apparently my original problem was that the doors were out of adjustment when I bought the truck and they are getting hung up on one another.

You know I have really raised a lot of hell over this and now they are ignoring me, I f%ckin hate that.

 

I had the same problem except my truck came off the lot in that shape. Got the doors adjusted twice, finally a little bit better now. It took them about 2 months to get that little plastic piece in and fix it. At the same time I got that fixed I got the passenger side wiper fixed and they somehow managed to break the cowel (aka icecube tray) And the part has finally come in after only 6 weeks!

You know I thought the same thing when I saw that, only Ford would come up with that!!!!
