For those of you with LineX....what did your installer do about the bed bolts?
My installer pulled them out and spray painted them black (from silver)

Didn't take long for the paint to come off...glad my truck isn't yellow, I would have six bright yellow spots in the bed.

He said he had to do this incase the bed ever had to come off.
Had he of just put a piece of the torx wrench in the hole of the bolt and sprayed it with the bed spray then the bolt could still be removed.

I'm thinking I should take it back.

What did they do to your bed bolts?

Everyone's bolts are silver, no matter what color the truck is. If they would have sprayed the Line-X over the bolts, it would have permanently secured them to the bed. They did the right thing.

What about the bolts on the tailgate? Did they remove them before they applied the Line-X?

On our truck they pulled ALL the bolts and tie downs, sprayed the liner and reinstalled. Looks much better.
Above post is right. Once they spray ont the goop, its a pain to remove. Much better to have them accessable. Don't worry about them rusting, they will be fine.

They took the bolts out, sprayed the Line-X in and put the bolts back. If they sprayed them with some cheap rattle can paint, you can probably just clean them up yourself and put them back. I know I'd be mad if they spray painted my bolts. Either that or make them buy you new ones from Ford. Good luck!

They were very extensive at my shop, they removed the bolts, tie-downs, the bed caps, tailgate, and the two drain plugs on the forward wall. On the tailgate they removed the panel that accesses the latching mechanism and sprayed it separate incase of service. They did not spray the tailgate bolts and removed the cap. When I got it back, it was so beautiful I almost cried.

The one thing about my liner I don't like--when they sprayed the holes for the bed extender, they affected the tolerances just a bit--it was just enough that the bed extender won't lock in anymore!

got a solution grim

Grim,
Same thing happened to me when I had my Line-X installed.
Just shave off a little of the rubber bumpers that the bed extender rests on while inside the bed.
/Marcus (mine is an 01, but I doubt they changed the bed extender too much since then)

I think the problem is actually the bedliner at the bottom of the hole that prevents the bar from extending in the additional 1/8". I don't think they plugged the holes when they sprayed the liner in!
