I love that box. How is it made? Fiberglass? How can I get my hands on one?

The box they used was/is totally custom. They make them in-house. I doubt they even have the specs, the place does absolutely insane work. If you go on their website you can see some stuff they have done www.sound-in-motion.com

Also, you can try giving them a call and ask if they could possibly make another box and what it would cost etc...Just mention the brand new F-150 and they should know my truck.

Thanks for posting a link to your pics of the installation. It gave me some good ideas!

I'm working on a similar system - design stages - that will be powered by a laptop. This will allow not only for DVD playback, but also MP3, SAT navigation, internet access, etc. etc.

Although, I do have some concerns over audio quality form the laptop. Still researching the best option, but will probably settle on a mac runnning MacX, since it seems to have the best "music/multimedia" features. It should be pretty easy to tie it to my sprint phone and aquire internet access, since the phone is technically a node on the network - the cleint software is also available from their website.

I was planning on adding a touchscreen and writing a custom interface to sub-launch various aspects of the system.

Anyone have any good links for similar conversion?

Nice install. I should know. I installed at a top shop for 3 years during college in NY. The good installs look stock. Its easy to do an install that doesn't look stock. But to keep it looking stock is a trick. We once did a 14 speaker setup in a Grand National that cost $25 grand in the late 80s. Won best at show at Raceway Park in Englishtown and except for the deck it looked stock inside. I"m probably going to do something similar when I'm set.

Nice install, You couldn't cut out the stock wood cover to use in the dash.

I like the in dash navi, is it DVD also.

What 6.5 screen did you get, Alpine? i just rmembered something I read somewhere else. I think you can take your front panel to a place that coats plastic, I've seen carbon fiber film laminated over plastic. Any of you guys know what I'm trying to say? Wouldn't that work for the dash cover he painted?

Can you give us a breakdown of everything you installed?

I'm thinking maybe a JL stealthbox under the rear seat (If they make them yet?) and 5 channel JL amp, new speakers in the door, new head unit with cd changer/ xm radio. Maybe a navigation system for the 6.5 in dash screen/DVD/etc. My truck has the rear entertainment system installed and audiophile system.

tks
