Gauge colors

Does anyone else wish Ford would've made the gauge colors something other than green (lit up at night). I really like the White lighted gauges on the Navigators. The green to me is just old looking, wish the entire speedo/tach (lariat) would've been back lit white to match the appearance it has during ther day. Anyone seen any mods or aftermarket ways to switch the colors?

it looks like the 2005 Mustang will have 3 or 4 colors you can choose from... all at the same time, just by toggling back and forth.

so today I want white
tomorrow i want green
the day after i want red

if this is a successful option expect Ford to roll it out to other models.

Actually got to see the new Mustang at the Raleigh Auto Expo (wow!) and the woman who did a presentation on the car said it would come with an option whereby you could choose over 120 guage colors at the touch of a button...pretty cool. It's something no one else is doing, that I'm aware of.

Cheers.

White would be cool...so would blue. Hopefully if they do expand to other models (F150 included) It could be an easy swap. I imagine that would be at least 2 years down the road.

The white faced gauges would look good at night.

I really thought that on the new model Ford would have installed real gauges providing real time info and would have put some color on the dials, at least on the tachometer. Whether the illumination was white, blue, amber, or boring green, a bit of yellow followed by red would be nice on the tach not only to have the color but also knowing what "red line" is (not that you can get there in stock dress due to the rev limiter). Dash illumination certainly may be an area where GM excels over Ford or maybe it is just that I like seeing colors on the dash at night.

The '05 Mustang dash lighting approach is going to be fairly cool. I wonder if they are using DLP technology to accomplish this.

Looked into it a little bit more. Ends up that Delphi will be producing the color configurable instument cluster for the '05 Mustang.

From Delphi's website regarding the technology

For potential detractors, yes, it is just a cosmetic thing, but I do think it would be cool if this were to become an option on the F-150, along with Ford's other vehicles. As electronics freak, I like it.

Cheers.
