Reverse sensor problem

It is my understanding that the stereo volume is supposed to lower when the reverse sensing beeps engage. I tried this a few times but the stereo volume doesn't change and if the volume is up I cannot hear the beeps at all. If the stereo is at lower volume or is off the beeps are quite loud.

Is this normal?

TIA

The volume goes down a lot when my sensor beeps.
It is very quick to respond.
You may need to ask service to check it for you.

Same here. My stereo volume goes down almost instantly when the sensors queue the beep beep beeps, and then returns to previous volume level after I shift out of reverse.

Same here. Just remember, the volume doesn't go down until the beeps start. If you put it in reverse the volume stays where it is until you get close to something.

Thanks for the replies.

I'll have it checked out. As I was backing up to the garage door, I said to myself, "gee, the beeping usually starts by now." Good thing that I stopped.
