Relocated jack under hood. Pictures

I have a 04 screw and mounted the jack stand to one of the front fame supports. I drilled 2 holes to match the mount and bolted it in place. Jack fits great and is easy to get to. It is right in front of where the air intake goes into the side panel. If you are standing facing the truck look down to your right, you will see a good size hole were the jack fits vertically and at a slight angle. Take the jack with it in it's stand and place it down that hole at a angle with the stand holes facing the front of the truck and you will see what part of the front frame I am talking about. I had to bend the 2 parts of the stand that bolts down alittle to get the right angle.

You will need an angled drill to drill the 2 holes needed.

I put the tool pouch in one of my rear door pockets. Fits great.

My reason for doing this was to mount my sub and amp under the rear seat.

Pictures are in my gallery.

Sounds great. I could free up more space to fit my crap inside.

It looks like the radiator hose rests across the top of the jack? If it does actually touch it may be neccesary to put a hose protector in that area. Otherwise it looks good.

Thanks everyone.

It does not touch it. That hose is the one going to the overfill tank. Just depends on the exact place your jack ends up. A hose protector would't hurt.

Remember guys, make sure you put that wing bolt back in place after you spread the jack as far as it can go to hold the jack in place. It's easy to get to if you mount it right.
Good luck.

Great mod! Exactly where the jack belongs.

I haven't even taken my jack out yet, so bear with me. How is the carpet underneath. Is it cut up looking or just a couple of holes from where the mount was? How clean looking is it with the jack gone.

What have you done to ensure that it does not vibrate loose? I know you said she's bolted down but I have seen bolts loosen up. Looks good bye the way

It's not bad. The holes in the carpet are about 1.5''x 3''. Just replace the bolts so you don't have 2 holes in your floor.
If I were not putting an amp there, I would be putting a contanier or something in that spot to hold a few tools and such. I do not have a tool box in the back of my truck, nor do I want one.
You could even put holes in what ever you put there to match up with the holes in the floor and bolt it down so it do not move. I will be bolting brackets to those holes to hold my amp closer to the bottom of the seat. (out of site)

I used stainless steel nuts, flat washers, lock washers, and bolts.
Everything bolted down on this truck will be lose before these do.
No differant than any other nut and bolt under that hood.
