New Black & Gold Lariat - Thanks!
New Black & Gold Lariat - Thanks!
Well, just picked up from the dealer after having Line-X spray, 5" Chrome Step Bars from Ford, and low-profile bug deflector added. Of course, right after it was detailed, it rains. Truck is awesome, 180 miles so far! Better pics to follow when not raining. Friday, we will pick up our new boat, Saturday running it down to the keys in SoFla sunshine. Luv living in South Florida - and my condolences to all living in the snow - I'm from Maine and know I won't be going back!
Thanks again to all on the forum for help in researching this and picking out a heck of a nice truck!

Thanks for the 'heads-up' on the link. Corrected now
. The boat is a newly built 2550 Bluewater Center Console with twin 200 HPDIs. Been planning and saving a looong time for this one, and found we needed a truck with better tow capacity, given the 7000 lb plus weight. Also wanted the four doors for the kids and big dog. During the week, this will likely be my wife's SUV, unless I can get her to agree to a wrestling match for who drives that day. Given how much SHE likes the truck, I might even lose that one occasionally
Actually - I'm really surprised how nice this truck really is. I had a 97 for SCab XLT until 2000 with so many problems I just traded in and bought a Toyota Tundra. Solid, smaller, not flashy...Didn't think a big ford would live up to that ride/feel or apparent quality. But this truck is a huge leap ahead of the Toyota Tundra, light years ahead of the 97 SCab. Drives a lot better, way quiet, tons of room, heck - even the 5.5 bed (deeper) gives me as much or more than the old 4/5ths Tundra. One thing I really like - the brakes on this are unbelievable - way solid, good stops. From my viewpoint, real nice to see Ford stepping up and back into the market with such a world beater. Knock on wood that I've already used up my allotment of Ford bad-luck/quality and this ownership experience will be smooth sailing!

Hi all.. just signing in to the F150online forum .... Same as you guys, I picked my Black '04 F150 Lariat 4x2 3 weeks ago ... What else to say, this truck is just the best of the best... I test drove all of them (Tundra, Titan, Ram, etc) and just loved this one ...
One question for fishin_ford on the '5" Chrome Step Bars from Ford' .. I have been looking for one just like it and the dealer here wants $566 + tax for it and it sounds pricy .... if you don't mind asking how much did you pay for it? Looking for a dealership or website that can have it for less ..
anyways... thanks and later.

Yeah, dealer 'deals' on accessories rarely seem like they are...The MSRP is $420 on those nerf bars from ford accessories store. The dealer said $560 to me, I checked and told'em no thanks, I'd just have'em shipped to me. They did a 'price check' and came back with $450 installed. That should be the max you pay, as that is what it would cost for you to order and ship from www.fordaccessoriesstore.com. I went ahead and let them install. I'll post some better pictures tomorrow - but the 5" bars are damned nice looking on the truck, easier/wider to step on. I hope I'm done spending money on this truck now - feel compelled to work late like right now
