I slam on my brakes at the very last second, bringing the 3-ton Tan Terror to a stop in the nick of time. My rotors are normally cherry-red by the end of my commute. No squeaking whatsoever. The lesson? Don't baby it, just drive baby! Brake dust is out of hand. Just past 7,000 miles. Hopefully I can rip through these pads in a few more weeks of power-braking and replace them with some good pads.

My truck has 113 miles on it and it is exhibiting a squeal under light braking at sub 40 mph speeds or so. Pretty annoying...will hose off the brake dust and see if it is just going to be consistantly happening as the dust builds up.

Couldn't have said it better myself.....

Question

I've recently had a slight intermittent squeal, with 7,400+ miles. It's not very noticeable, yet.

It's the multitude of brake dust that bugs me.

Has anybody changed to a more, "clean" type of brake pad?

Had mine for a year just aboout. 11,ooo miles . Brought it to my dealer and had them balance the tires . I had 1 bad rim factory they are warranteeing the rim . So Now when she goes in they are gonna check my grooved left rear rotor .All 4 are showing signs of irregular wear .I never get the squeak but I do drive like her like a truck .
