question about the heated seats on the 04, the lights keep going off after a few minutes(low or high) and you have to turn them on again, on my wifes GM they just stay on, are the 04 heated seats on a timer, thermostat of some type, or is it a defect?

 

It's on a timer, same as the heated mirrors, rear defrost if equiped.

 

Is there a way to change it to so it stays on longer? Like until you turn it off?

 

Yes. Wire it direct to the battery.
In about 30 min check for smoke.

my seats also go off after 10 mins the first time i turn them on....then if i activate them again they seem to stay on untill the truck is turned off....
