also got rear ended by dakota
I got rear ended by a dakota two days ago and the whole front of the dakota is totaled poped the radiator bent the bumper, hood one fender and busted the grille, my 2004 f150 just got a bent bumper and broken wire harness plug in , plus I'm gettting a new hitch out of it. the f150 held up great. but still is 435 dollars for new bumper and 80 for plastic piece ontop of bumper but that is what insurance is for.

Look real close where the front of the bed meets the back of the cab. A lot of times in rear-end collisions the bed can be pushed into the back of the cab real quick then return to it's normal position. Depending on if this happens and how hard it hits, it can chip the paint or worse leave dents. A lady in a Tahoe rear-ended my Tacoma and the only thing I noticed was that her Tahoe was really messed up. My bumper and everything looked fine, but a few weeks later I noticed paint missing from the back of my cab where the bed had been pushed into it real quick. No dents though, so I fixed it myself. Everything else is fine
OK, flame me for being off-subject, but my '90 Ranger was rear-ended by a 4-door Pontiac 6000SE. The Pontiac folded into a V-shape, the driver couldn't open either of the four doors and had to exit through a window...my damage? Replaced the rear bumper. That's FORD TOUGH! True story.
