lariat pin stripes

hello there, i need some help tracking down something i saw the other day.
i spotted a 2004 f150 crew, black with the arizona beige combo. my exact truck, it had some very nice looking pin stripes, but i have been told that what i saw does not exist on 04 trucks.
heres the deal, this truck had the same stripes that older lariats have, with the thin stripe that starts at the front and goes back to either the mid point of the back door, or all the way past the back door, but in either case ending with the written "Lariat" design at the end of the stripe.
Problem is that my dealer say that that was not available in 04 with the new 150. so this person probably took an older lariat decal and had it put on the new 150. Bottom line is i like the way it looked and ordered the lariat decal and the stripes from 2003.
So what i need help with is placement, why do some trucks end half way past the rear door and some carry all the way past with the lariat decal at the end either on the door or on the box. ? was or is this personal pref or special from the crew to supercrew? any help here would be great, like i said i saw this on the 04 and with the drop down door line it looked great, i need some pics to help me decide where to place the stripes and the decal, or is this just all a case of "where ever it looks good"
at 25.00 a decal i need some acurate guidance.

I was thinking I was going to do this exact thing. The reason I probably won't though is I like the clean look of just the Lariat badging on the sides and nothing else. Who knows I may still do it. I believe the supercabs had the Lariat underneath the Supercab window and the supercrews had it behind the 2nd door. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong. Post pics if you do it!

The pin stripe with lariat script on the driver and passenger door itself is a 97/98 model.
The stripe with the lariat script on the extended cab door is a 99/00 and I think after 01 the lariat script was placed on back on the bed.

I too like the pin stripe and considered having one made for my 04 lariat, I didnt know the 03s would fit up on the 04s.

Good luck with it.

I made a few calls to find the best 'stripe guy in town. He came to my house and put custom stripes, the width and colors of my choice, down the length of the truck following the window contour, and it looks great. It cost about $70, much less than the delaer price for an 03 stripe kit if I recall, and he offered a lifetime gaurantee.

What I did to mine... it is a matter of individual preference.
