Daystar Leveling Kit - Please Post Close-Ups
just make sure you have a 3/4" drive impact handy, if you plan on doing it with hand tools you'll be there forever.had good luck with the autozone rentals. curious about the daystar not being a 2 piece design like they have been for other applications. there's another lift company out there making 2 piece poly spacer(who I cant recall right now, it's in this months Four wheeler)one in the spring pack and one above the top spring plate. Cornbred's are also two piece on other applications so I'm surprised their kit is one piece on the F150? anybody got more details??? many people also say the metal spacers are alot more durable in the long run than the poly...
Does anybody have an opinion on the following charges one of my local 4x4 shops quoted me?

You can buy the Daystar kit all day long for $105 on ebay and about that from mail order. I had a 4x4 shop here quote me $90 for labor. I took the struts assemblies out myself and had my Ford dealer compress them for me. I gave the mechanic $30 for doing it. My total was $105 + $8 shipping + $30 to compress the springs and add the longer bolts, plus my time which was only 1 hour to take them out and 45 minutes to put it back together. Very easy to take apart.
I installed the revtek 2" billet aluminum spacers and they have been great!! It was easy as hell to put them in (though I doi suggest you take the strut assembly to a shop to have the springs compressed). It took me less than an hour to get them installed and now I'm running LT315's on my truck with no rub issues.
Installed the daystar kit on a friends 04 f-150 last Friday. He got into the alignment shop yesterday and minus a small toe in adjustment the truck checked out fine.
We installed the kit in about 3 hours from start to finish in my garage. The only "special tools" used were a cheap set of auto zone spring compressors and a lrg. ball joint removal tool.
One trick that might save everyone's spring compressors is to jack the truck by the A arm, therefore the coil still has the truck's weight on it, and install the compressors while the strut is still on the truck. Doing this made the install pretty smooth. The only additional thing I noticed was to make sure the compressors are put on the struts on opposite sides on the springs, keeping the coil as evenly compressed as possible.

hey guys ive seen people talking about the daystar lift and how bad it is because the increased height causes the drive axle to be put in a bind or a position that will cause increased wear on the axle itself. is there any truth to this? will this lift cause any adverse reaction to the drive axles? i was wanting to install this on my vehicle but wanted to get a few opinions from people who have installed the lift and/ or know more than i do about the situation. thanks, john

I bought my Daystar 2.5" spacer kit yesterday. I can't wait to get it. Now if my truck would hurry up and get here that would be even better. Shouldn't be long now.

I was kind of concerned about the wear also. I just installed 1/2 of the Daystar kit to keep the angle about the same as the 2003 models and it gave me just the right amount of lift that I wanted. I guess only time will tell on how these kits affect the cv joints.
