wolfman, you must have something missing man. I have 6 speakers at the least. I never saw a 7th speaker. You just won't admit that you're wrong about the 4 speakers man. I don't have a sub, I know that for sure. So I don't have audiophile. I do know I have at least 6 speakers though. I have the truck parked outside of my house, in my driveway, so I know this maaaannn.

Like I said before, good for you - you have benefitted from a factory defect where the factory must have given you tweeters by mistake. The non-audiophile 6 disc changer has 4 speakers standard, not 6, and not 7. Dont believe me? Like I said, ask your dealer, or better yet, go to motorcraft.com and subscribe to their system and download the service folders and find out for yourself. 4 speakers is all you get. Let me ask you a question - do you have a black plastic box underneath your back seat???

Did anybody think that Ford has changed the systems. I remember back in November building a truck on line and the Audiophile option was ~$550. Now it is only $250.
I've seen a dealers info packet and it stated that the 6 disc changer came with only 4 speakers, but I bet that Ford has changed that to where it now contains the 6 speakers and the audiophile upgrade gives you the audiophile head unit and the 8" sub.

man, i didn't think it was gunna be this contraversial, im gunna check mine this evening when i get off work, how much trouble is it to haul off the cover? I tried to look at it with a flashlight but couldn't even see the 6" speakers. I must say, it sounds like there is tweeters in there, and the back speakers have alot of base. and no, i don't have a sub.

No, I don't have the black box underneath the back seat wolfman. I also don't have the cool head unit like the audiophile system has as I've heard it is more complex than the standard 6 disc in-dash.

Leog, the Audiophile option didn't 'really' get cheaper, it's just split up now into two options:

Audiophile
6-Disc CD Changer

If you want Audiophile you must pay for both options, which come to the same amount as it used to be back in August when it was only one option all rolled into one:

Audiophile w/6-disc in-dash cd changer

I have the Audiophile and I have one more speaker than you guys have mentioned.

There is a speaker in the passenger seat of my FX4. I have been unable to find the mute option on the head unit menu for it, unfortunately.

If I turn the music up louder, its still louder and tinnier sounding than all the other speakers. And when I shut the stereo off, it keeps making noise.

Anybody else have this factory flaw?

alright alright, i checked my speakers yesturday. I couldn't find how to take the cover off the doors but i turned on the stereo and placed my ear near the tweeter hole, no sound! that ends that, the reason i started this thread was because i was surprised at the sound (good)
