Question Mpg's

WITH ABOUT 1,400 MILES ON MY 04 FX4 SCAB I AM GETTING ABOUT 13.9 MPG WITH A MIXTURE OF HIGHWAY & LIGHT CITY DRIVING, I'M DEFINATLY NOT HEAVY ON THE THROTTLE, BUT I'M HPING THIS GETS A LITTLE BETTER AS THE MOTOR BREAKS IN ALL THE WAY. WOULD APPRECIATE ANY INFO ....COMMENTS

THANKS

I am at 2800 miles and averaging around 14.5 in the same driving conditions as yourself. As I am tracking my milage as I go along I have noticed a very slight improvement average, but only .2 or .3 mpg since I crested the 1000 mile mark.

Same here with the driving conditions, I have 1600 miles and get about 13.2 mpg. So I too hope it improves with time. Keep us posted if your air intake and other mods improve your mileage.

My mileage is climbing, up to 12.0 at this point. Bear in mind that it's all short trips and every one of them ends with a half mile climb up a muddy road to my house. When I reset the computer after a fill-up, it reads as high as 22 mpg cruising along at 40 mph on a flat road. I haven't had a chance to do any extended highway driving to get a feel for how it would do there.

under 11 here, with some highway miles as well---very disgusted--no where near where they predict---have had two tanks now, and both under 11----I dont rev up at every take off, drive easy---on interstate I will ride 77-80, but drive smooth------hope it will change------love this truck though----great ride!

About 12 mpg pulling my boat, 13-15 otherwise. I don't look for it to improve. I got 4800 miles on my truck and my last ford wasn't this good. I didn't buy it for the gas mileage anyway....

Here's my breakdown with my '04 Lariat SuperCab 4x4

1) 15.29 (426.0 miles / 27.87 gal)
2) 13.29 (305.4 miles / 22.97 gal)
3) 15.38 (498.6 miles / 32.41 gal)

Overall, I'm at 14.77 with a good mix of city and highway driving and a few warm-ups in between. Given the winter fuel, combination of highway/city driving and several warm-ups, I'm satisfied with my average MPG.

Hope this helps,
E
