What is the largest tire size you can put on the stock 18" Fx4 wheels with the Daystar lift installed? Thanks in advance.

I think stock rims are only 7.5" wide...so that limits your choices...I think the biggest is going to be 33's (overall)...something like a BFG 285/65/18....thats about all I have found for the stock rims. Now if you go aftermarket rims....that a horse of another color. Anyone know of any other tires that will fit the stock 18's....I want 34" overall.....I have the daystar front end kit.
Okay, I know how to read a tire for the most part (265/60R18, etc.), but wheels throw me a bit. But what exactly is 17x8, etc.? Is the 8 the width in inches of the wheel? How do I know which tires will fit it without having to ask the guy on the other side of the counter at the tire store?
And where can I get COMPLETE information on the stock wheels for a 2004 SuperCrew Lariat 2WD? I need to know the width of the wheel to determine which tires I can put on it, right!?

tire manufacturers list the range of wheel width that their tires will fit. look at the spec for the tires you are considering. usually it will say something like the wheel width must be 8-10 inches. so if your wheel is 7.5, that is a no go. if it is 10.5, no go. if it is 8-10, you are good to go my friend. just check out the web site of whatever manufacturer you are considering.
I have read a few of these, and since this is the most recent, and I am now ready to make the move to new wheels and tires I'd like to as a question as well.
With the Daystar on a SCREW, will a BFG mud 33x12.5 on 16.5x12 rim fit? These parameters seem close, my thought is that they might be too wide, but if anyone has already done this let me know.
I owe everyone here a pic for all the help, just waiting to complete the entire project
04 SCREW White Lariat
Daystar
Pioneer Navigation
Trenz upper/lower grill
clear front turn signal bulbs
*wheels/tires coming*
*snugtop SS on order*

I've seen 35x12.5 BFG MT's on stock FX4 17" wheels. My dealer had 2 trucks for sale with these and Daystar kits... Don't know if they rubbed or not though

Thanks Truck of Doom,
I was just reading that as well on the 280 posts thread and finally got that info. Looks like in that case, I'll have to do more reasearch on the available wheels/tires for the 04 17"+. I must have wasted hours on the 16.5's though!
Any recommendations? I kinda like those Weld StoneCrushers but I guess they're not avail in 6x135 lug.
Do you know the conversion from inches to ---/--/-- to get that approx size tire (33x12.5) BFG Muds.

WOW Allstar,
I didn't know you could squeeze 35's in there with the Daystar. Thats pretty good, I guess the hugh wheel wells do come in handy. You got me re-thinking 33's now. FX have wider rims? Didn't think you could get 12.5 wide on my stock 18" Lariat wheels.

04F150SCCL, the Weld Stone Crushers do come in that bolt pattern, only the info isn't on their site.
As far as a 12.50" tire, is your truck a 4X4 or not? I think you could fit 33's without any major issues with the Daystar spacers. You may need to do a bit of trimming, but nothing really major. If your truck is a 4X2, then I don't have an answer for you, as I would be in the same situation. 33" tall tires I think would be ok, it's the width that is the issue.
