Short answer yes

If it can be proven the part change caused a problem with a warrantee part.
A chip change can possibly take away the entire powertrain
warrantee.

Yes!!!!!!!

If you chip it,you can forget about any powertrain warranty.

Any mods you do should be the kind that you can take off before you go in for warranty work.

Many will say{and its true} that Ford must prove that the aftermarket part actually caused the problem.

The truth is,if they see a mod, they will more than likely void your warranty. If you dont mind waiting for months to go to court while your truck sits at the dealer, then mod away.

Also keep in mind that when you go to court,Ford will be there with "experts" and you'll just be Joe Smoe truck owner.

If you dont believe me just ask the guy on the Lightning board that got his voided because of a K&N air filter and a catback exhaust.

The back of the board in the computer where the chip mounts has a gel like stuff on it. You have to break that stuff or make a place on it to get the old chip out and add the new one. Basically, there is no way to add the chip and then take it out and never be discovered. SVT vehicles must be inspected by a special rep for powertrain warranty claims of certain sorts. Not sure about regular vehicles but I would guess that Ford is cracking down on all of that given there desire to lower warranty claims from dealers.
