dropping the back 2"

wanting to know if there is anyone out there that is lowering the back end of there 4x4 2" instead of raising the front to level it.
have a FX4 don't really want to do it, but I like the looks of a level truck, and with the tall bed sides, it would be nice.
Whos got the kits to do either?

Well... if you drop the back of the truck 2 inches I'm sure it will look all level and square. Until you put a load in then back then you'll wish you had those 2 inches back.

I haven't really looked at the rear suspension, but I thought I heard that there are 2" blocks in the rear, if you took those out you might be able to accomplish what you want. Also dropping the rear 2" is going to act the same when towing as raising the front end 2" so long as people realize this before hand and are ok with it what is the difference.

I pulled the blocks out of my FX4. The rear is now about 1" above the front.

New u-bolts from Ford were $16.

Looks great, drives great.

Do not forget to adjust your headlights down some.

Daystar also has a 2 inch lowering shackle for the rear, I bought them from www.awesometrucks.com for $29.00. Haven't put them on yet but when I do i'll get a pic out.

That link doesn't go there any more, but if you can find extended shackles for the following trucks, they use the same 3" spring. (2003 and earlier use the 2.5" spring)

77-up F250, F350, E250 and E350
77-96 Bronco
98 Expedition and Navigator

I was going to order a set of stock shackles, cut them in two and weld in a piece of C-channel to make them 3.5" longer (the longest you can make them before hitting the bed), but if I can find some extended shackles for any of those trucks, then why should I bother paying $45 for stock shackles just so I can extend them myself, when I can order them already longer.

So the only difference in ride height between the 4X2 and the 4X4 is a taller block in the rear? Or is there something else? Somewhat taller springs up front? Anyone?

Bueller? Bueller?

The difference between the 4x4 and the 4x2 is in the frame plus the rear block. The bracket that the lower control arm attaches to is lower on the 4x4.
