OBD II, PWM or CAN

Will an ODB-II reader (PWM) read anything on the 2004, or must the new CAN interface be required.

BTW - CAN is a part of the OBD2 connector, pin 6 for high and pin 14 for low.

Well, I got a code reader (AutoEnginuity) that supports all formats, lass CAN --- it will read my saturn (VPW) my Mazda (ISO), but not my 04 f150 CAN -- so it must not support PWM.

Have you successfully connected to the F150 with a PWM reader?

2004 f-150 uses CAN protocol.
