Look out for Toyota, here come a Hybrid Truck

Toyota unveiled a Hybrid Concept Truck this week. See video labeled Toyota Hybrid at the link below. The truck is near the end of the 2:12 clip. I have heard rumors that the truck will switch power plants for towing but during normal conditions it will use the electric motors from stand still to 35 mph then the gas engine jumps in. I have also heard that Acura will do this with the next NSX.

If this does not work go to www.naias.com and a pop up appears. Click on it and then choose Streaming Videos.

If this does not work go to the msn homepage www.msn.com and in the upper left of the page click on Auto Show 2004. Under the heading Multimedia go to Streaming Video

Sorry for the trouble, but the video's are really worth checking out.

on a similar note,i understand that GM is working on a "displacement on demand" feature for their 2006 and beyond truck models. its a system similar to the cadillac V8 of the 1980s.
