Looking at the service manual there is no way to adjust the light sensor.

The small dome on the dash is the sensor. If you cover it for about 10 seconds, the lights will come on.

You might experiment by covering it with something tinted.

It may even be possible to tint the sensor a little more than it is right now. Thus, causing the lights to come on more often.

I was reading my manual just last night. I have an '04 Lariat SCrew. The auto lights can be adjusted in the "message center"
if you have one. It is the digital guage on dash that tells mileage,
compass direction etc. If yours is not so equpped there is a manual procedure for the auto lights, but I didn't read that page very thoroughly. You may be limited only to
auto/no auto.

I have reaad that also and I 99% shure it deals with how much time it takes to shut off after you turn the truck off.

It does both...

Autolamps ON/OFF and Autolamp timer.

I just put my gloves over top the sensor and it clicks them on when I drive and off when I'm done.

Wingn8ive, look a little closer at your Lariat Message Center. The only Autolamp option is the delay (0-180 seconds.) The other on/off option you are referring to is Auto LOCK. There would no point to a Autolamp on or off choice here. That's what the headlamp switch controls.

I'm not certain if the "sensitivity" can be adjusted on the '04s. I noticed mine come on much sooner than those in my previous '01 Screw. I assumed this was in response to many customer requests for earlier activation. Either way, the previous sensors that were located under the slots in the top of the dash were adjustable. There were numerous threads on this in the other areas. Here is one from the SuperCrew section.
