Obviously it is early, but there are some signs out there from the Lincoln and the KR truck. Both have stated they are Screws with 5.5ft beds. What do you think? I don't see a 6.5ft bed for 05' IMO.

honestly I dont think Ford will every 6.5 crew cab beds for the F150... i think they want u to buy an F250 for that... stupid... but then again look at how Ford has always forced u in to buying the top model just to get the "basic" features... lack of options of what describes Ford.

You are gonna have to explain that to me. I read your other post about buying the GMC and you also said there about Ford having "a lack of options". Are you talking about across the board or within the different models? What else could you possibly want in a truck that Ford doesn't offer?

I will agree with that on one point-why can you get audiophile in STX but not the XLT-but that is the only issue I can think of.

If we all bought '04s, why do we care what's on the 05s? See, I want the '05 to be scaled down a bit, so that those of us with the 04s still have the better truck.

EXACTLY, Guister !!! I wanted to get an '04 because I'm expecting Ford to CUT production costs for future models, hence the possibility of losing some features/options. Just my assumption, though... and we all know what happens there.

Unhappy

horkn:

But the Lariat model is above the FX so I can see offering something on the Lariat and not the FX4, what I don't understand is offering something on a lower model that you can't get on a higher one.

Bottom line (and to shut me up) Ford needs to offer audiophile on the XLT!

i dont consider the fx4 loaded up to be any bit below the lariat. you cant get skid plates factory on the lariat... among other things.... so they are at the same level. just different tools for different fools.... i like both, but i can see myself needing skid plates and off road tuned shocks more than a trip computer...

Sure you can, you just have to pay $160 (list price) for them. They are standard on the FX4.

Uh, no. Clem meant that they can be ordered as an option (it is a factory option on XL, XLT, and Lariat models), just check out the F150 brochure or build it at fordvehicles.com.

I think it says they are not "standard" on any other trim level. You can get them as an option.
