Talking Gibson vs Flowmaster Exhaust??

Gibson or Flowmaster??? Single or Dual??? Although I love great sound, I don't want to suffer a loss in performance.

Go with a Magnaflow...mellow sound, straight-thru, rock wool packed, lifetime warranty. I've had the others...loud, raucus, and rusted out in 3 years or less.

On my '99 I had a cheap 40 series Flowmaster on going out to "fake" Duals. It sounded better than most I've heard, mellow, deep, but not obnoxious by any means. Quiet at idle and when cruising, but deep when you're on the gas. As far as loss of performance, you may want to stay away from "straight through" mufflers as you will most likely suffer a loss of Torque, not what you need in a 6000lb truck.

My recommendation on whatever you get is make sure it's stainless steel so you won't have to be concerned with rust. The factory system is stainless, so go with nothing less. I'm considering the Gibson dual sport but have not been able to actually see one to see what the tips look like or the quality of the system. If you get a custom muffler shop to make your system my experience has been that they don't last very long and are noisy. JMO
