Mileage
My idea too. I stopped keeping track because it is to depressing. I still get 10 - 11 city. I have taken 4 (175 mile) trips and set the cruise on 70 mph and got no better than 13.25 mpg. (I filled up 1 mile off of the highway and filled back up on my return at the same pump. Up the highway to the airport and back. Not a lick of city driving.
Just trying to convince myself that it's a truck and nothin' I'm going to be able to do about it.
(I drive like there is an egg under the gas pedal most of the time.)

I like keeping track, particularly to see if I get better when I added my tonneau, how much worse when towing, et cetera. That, and I have to make sure that I'm not getting the horrible fuel effiency that some of you are getting.
Well, just hit record for this truck:
With 134.5 miles I filled up and the truck sucked up 16.135 gal. This equates to roughly:
8.335 mpg!!!
I put it on the highway and set the cruise at 65 mpg, turned around and set at 65-55 mpg (depending on speed zone) and filled back up tonight.
With 17.40 miles it topped off at 1.706 gal. Both times I let the pump kick off and did NOT top off. This equates to roughly:
10.199 mpg on the F@!#'n highway! Truck was warm and I was on the highway about 17.0 miles of the 17.4 miles driven.
UNBELEIVABLE!!!

8.3 mpg is terrible. However a couple questions for you if you dont mind.
1. Did you run it in 4wd during the 134 miles?
2. Did you allow the truck to idle at any time before driving it?
These may be stupid questions, but just trying to account for the bad mileage.
Your second mpg calculation of 17.4 miles is not enough throughput to get an accurate measurement. Different fuel dispensers and nozzles will give you slightly different results. As with any kind of slope you may be parked on. Try to burn as much fuel in a tank before refueling to get the most accurate figure. At least 25 gallons if you can.
With any truck I have ever driven, each has gotten considerably worse mileage in the winter.
At any rate its still a good idea to take it in to document any concerns. Good Luck.

I have not had it in 4wd at any time during this 134 miles. However, I have let it warm up quite a few times during this point.
I don't understand how burning 1.7 gal vs 25 gal will make a difference of that enormous perportion.
I will burn this tank until my light comes on and then let you know what I find out.

Mine seems to be getting better with each reset, even under winter conditions. On my last refill, with the truck in 4wd the whole time, it was getting as high as 22 for quite a ways on flat, but slushy roads. Once I got up into the hills the mileage dropped off to around 12, but again that's all 4wd and over slushy terrain and the last half mile of every trip is up a steep dirt/mud road. Previously, it was getting around 15 on flat ground in 2wd when things were pretty dry here.
I just have about 1,000 miles on it, so it's not really broken in yet. It's coming in nicely, I think. We'll see how it goes when summer comes around and there are a few miles on it

My truck has approximately 520 miles on it, so only one fill-up thus far, but anyways, here's what I got:
426 miles / 27.87 gallons = 15.29 MPG
This was with a nice 200 mile freeway trip to Cincinnati and then back to Columbus.
On my next tank, the computer says I'm at 13.7 MPG currently and that's with 75% city / 25% freeway.
I'm usually very easy on the throttle and varying speeds to help with break-in.

I drive from my place in cent Fl to my home in NC about twice a month. Last two trips with the new truck at 80 mph mileage was 16.6 average with 5.4 and 3.55 rear. I drive a constant route to my business and back everyday and at 65 mph I average 20.6. Tire pressure is 40 psi cold front and 35 rear. The ARE rear cap for the bed increased the milage approx 1.7 mpg @80mph. Truck has 5k on it now.
if I go point A to point B and stay mostly hway, I get 16.5ish. But as soon as I drive city/hway mix it is always near 13.7 give or take .5. I wanted to add that I now have over 5,000 miles so break in has happened and then some.
