I saw the ad you are speaking about..... F150 pulling what appears to be a Shelby & a Dodge pulling a Charger (a few pounds heavier car). The ad does not say which engine is in the F150 but certainly does say their truck has a Hemi. What perked my attention is that I understood the ad to say the test pulls were done 280 times and the Hemi beat the F150 all 280 times. In the ad the Hemi shows to be ahead of the F150 about a truck length.

280 flat out pulls.... that is fairly impressive; I wonder it there were any failures of either of the trucks during the 280 pulls.

I drove the Hemi and the GMC. The Hemi was fairly impressive but I did not like the interior. The abundance of toys in the GMC was definetly cool & the interior plush was nice but that front end, ugh. I bought a F150 Lariat Screw and if a Dodge with optional Hemi with 45 more HP and XX more torque can out run me in a quarter and outpull me by only a truck length then cool - it should do that. But, as I said, I purchased the F150 and have not looked back.

I saw that ad also. It seemed to look like they were on a 50mile straight road. I have only seen the ad once though. Do they give any other specs other than the 280 pulls? Notice they don’t show the start but the end. But as said before it is still just a dodge. Nothing beats a Ford. I don’t care what anyone says. If it wasn't the best truck out there then why does everyone compare any new truck to the F-150.

I test drove the '03 Hemi Ram before looking at the '04 F-150. The thing is sluggish as hell. It runs a 16.2 in the 1/4 and I've seen them only dyno 252-hp at the rear wheels. I would almost say Dodge is falsely advertising their numbers. I know that new Silverado SS at least can get in the 15's with it's 345-hp. I had to choose the F-150 over Dodge due to the fact I hated the way it handled and I couldn't get a moonroof in it.
