First snow of the year

How did everyone's (who were affected) '04s handle the Nor'easter that hit this weekend?

Had mine in 4H and it handled like a dream.

Our "Big Storm" amounted to little more than slush. The 2 Hi handled it just fine. I'm still waiting for the big test.

I'm interested in how well the heated mirrors worked?....did they come on automatically (like the wiper heaters on my wifes LS) or was it a manual selection?

I'm on the other side of lake Ontario, so we totally missed the storm. It's just wee bit chilly here. Could be worse. This after noon was nice -3. We have friends in Newfoundland that got over a metre of snow this weekend. Plus a hydro outtage. That sucks.

I live in Southern RI, and we got +/- 18". I had my FX4 SCrew in 4H and 4L for about 300 miles of travel. IT IS SIMPLY THE BEST TRUCK ON THE PLANET!!!!

Here's the kicker.... The rear end shimmy that I had is now gone!!!!!!

Apparently, the use of 4H and 4L has loosened up that rear end gear pack. ...? In any case, that annoying shimmy is
H-I-S-T-O-R-Y!!!!

I'll post more details in another thread related to the "rear end shimmy on take off".

I was up in Upstate NY for Thanksgiving and the Lariat handled the 10 inches of snow just fine. I think I heard him laughing at it...........

I even drove through some snow banks on purpose just for kicks!

This is my first 4-wheel drive vehicle... after seeing how it handled snow as deep as 12 inches deep (in the road, up to 3 feet total fall) I will never buy another vehicle without 4-wheel drive. I pride myself in having driven over 1 million miles in the north and never gotten stuck, but this was better then "not getting stuck".... this was fun!

you have to push a button on the heat/ac controls to activate the heated mirrors but after that they work great.

Any of you guys notice its VERY hard to turn in 4x4? My 86' binds a little bit but this thing is rediculous. I felt like i needed 2 acres to turn around on an ice parking lot the other day......

Of course it will, the manner in which the shafts on any IFS system are set up, with being unequal lengths, you will get hopping and problems when attempting to turn in 4wd, ESPECIALLY if you have the wheel to full lock (VERY UNADVISABLE) when you are turning in 4x4. CV's are bad news ...
