stuck 1st time in 4x4
A buddy called me last night and said he was stuck in the mudd and snow out where we hunt.I said I would be right out and to pull him out( he has a 2003 Toyota Tundra).I head out in my 2004 Lariat 4x4 to recover a friend.I locate him and man he is really stuck.I try to position my truck but before I know it I am so so stuck.Fortunatly for both of us this takes place behind a John Deere dealership where I work so I go get an excavator and in no time we are both out.I have mudd caked up in the wheel wells that I could not get to brake free because of the freezing temps.I will be taking it thru the car wash today and hopefully that does the job.Man I wish I had my camera with me.

Back in my college days I had one of the great Corvairs, which had a rear engine that offered "superb" traction. One night, at party on a farm, I got the bright idea to position the car in a place to put the lights on the action. As I drove through the grass, I suddenly had a "sinking" feeling.
No matter how good the traction of the tires, the ground must support the weight. And as many of us have learned, once the tires are sunk to the axle, it's a mess!
My heart goes out to you; trying to help a buddy in freezing weather. I would like to think most of the guys on this site would have done the same thing.
Cheers.
