Auto Door Locks
I did by the above procedure on the Keypad and it works everytime. By this I mean that the doors do not "self lock" when I hit 5 MPH. When I get out of the truck, the doors are still unlocked. This is what I wanted it to do, and what the procedure is meant to do. I would however like for the dorrs to lock when I hit 5 MPH, but when I take the keys out of the ignition and open the door, I want the rear doors to unlock. I think someone already mentioned this in this thread.....
My advice is to keep trying, it took me several times before I realized I was not following the instructions properly. I felt like a dope. (no comments please ;-)

For those that say the back doors are locked from the inside
Just a guess here no logic
But you know how you can disable the rear windows from being operated by backseat passangers would that same switch prevent the rear doors from opening ?
so your little ones can`t open windows and thow things out and also keep them from bolting out of the truck till your ready to catch them ?
Rocker switch beside the drivers door locks ???

I think I realized where I'm going wrong...
Yesterday when I tried it, got the chirp, drove to work and then wasn't able to open the back door - well, I never unlocked the back door to begin with. I'm guessing it'll be fine now. I did the code for a third time getting the chirp. I'll drive home with the back doors unlocked and we'll see how it goes.
Doh!

I disabled mine using the keypad. The instructions are in the owners manual. The autolocks stayed disabled since I did it the second day I had the truck, which has been two months now. I would suggest reading the owners manual while you are doin it. It took me two tries to get it to work.
I think we all know that we can disable the autolock. It's just that it makes no since, at all, that the rear doors do not open from the inside when the doors are locked. All Fords, always worked that way. When you pull the front door inside handle, when locked, it opens. Why not the rears?
Here is an odd twist.
I have an 04 Lariat Supercrew. Last night, i was doing some testing of the autolocks.
Seems that it is just autolock and not auto-unlock. When I start up the truck, and drive away... the doors lock like they are supposed to. When I stop, put it in park, then turn off the ignition, NOTHING unlocks. The front doors unlock when you pull the handle from the inside, but they are not unlocked automatically once the truck is turned off.
Looking in the manual, there is no mention of auto-unlock. Just autolock. Seems kinda stupid that it will lock you in, but not unlock you out.

It has been shown to me, by virtue of having both my wife and my 15 year old son ride in the back seat, that when the autolock function is engaged, none of the doors auto-unlock and the rear doors do not unlock by using the door handle. However, the door lock plunger on the back doors is designed long enough to grab, unlike the front doors' plungers, so that back seat passengers can manually unlock the back doors by pulling up on the plunger (imagine that, unlocking the doors by pulling up on that instead of pushing a button - remember before power door locks when you had to push the plunger down AND hold the button on the outside handle while closing the door in order to get a door to lock? Oops, that probably dates me...) I just try to remember that if someone is in the back seat, or if I want to get in, hit the unlock on the driver's door before exiting the front seat. Those in the back seat have learned to just pull up the plunger - a lesson learned after about 1 time for my son and a few more for my wife.
I'm with fatboy, tho - I wish it worked like the autolock on my '02 Bonneville. When you put that car in park, ALL the doors unlock (which is why it took my wife longer to catch on since that is her daily driver). Anyway, there's my $0.02...
