tail gate

Even though I have no money I couldn't help and go and look at the new 04. I must say the most impressive thing to me was how light the tail gate was. The sails person wasn't very knowing and couldn't tell me why it was so light, or should I say, seemed so light. Anyone know how they did it?

There's a torsion spring hidden inside, it's well illustrated at ford's website.

31C...I'll bet the sales person at your dealership is a relative of the person at one of my local dealers who, when asked about axle ratio options, told me that Ford doesn't have axle ratios!

I went to a competitor and ordered at less than invoice from the Fleet Mgr. AND, lo and behold...my XLT arrived with an axle ratio!

You should've asked him how it gets down the road w/o an axle ratio.

I had a dealership tell me that the F-150 was front wheel drive when 2wd...

Now I have heard everything! Good grief... How do people expect to sell a product they obviously are not familiar with?

Cheers.

I had the same thing happen at the first dealer I went to. Didn't have a clue about the 04. I left abrubtly after pointing out that I knew more than they did. Got a 15 minute message on the machine a couple of days later answering most of my questions and they have the gall to ask if I would like to place my order now. Found a different dealer who not only knew what they were talking about but were very thrilled just discussing it. Guess who got my business?

Up here in Motown a salesman would get shot for that kind of ignorance.

I can't beleive salespeople still exist that do not know what they are selling and then wonder why knowledgable customers walk to another seller.

okay.... I just looked at my wording....

the "crack" and "motown" in the same sentence was coincidence.
