Have you ever noticed

Go out to your trucks screws anyway not sure about the scab
open either rear door and while looking between the cab and the Truck box slam the door shut your see a little exhaust flap open letting out the cab pressure .

what will they think of next hehe

Those little exit flaps are to let water drain out of the cab in case you leave your windows and moonroof open all day during a heavy rain.

Those are pressure releases. Most vehicles these days seal very well around the doors. So when you slam the door, you risk blowing the windshield out because it is held in with glue....or the door bouncing back at you because of the pressure.

Could it be to release pressure it the airbag deploys also?

i would imagine that if you had the moonroof or a window open that those vent would open also ?

no wonder the doors shut so much nicer than the 01 did

I believe the older trucks have a similar air release system. On my 2001 Reg. cab I see some air vents that serve the same purpose, at least I think they do.

My '03 SCrew has 'em too. Which is why I dug up this old thread...just did a search trying to figure out what the heck they were.
