Does anyone have the indash 6 CD changer? When I bought my '04 FX4, they told me it had a 6CD changer in it, but when I got it home, I found out it didn't have one. I didn't know that much about them so didn't really know what they looked like. It was no big deal and would have bought the truck either way. But some other dealer problems came up so I started writing letters to the dealer and Ford Motor Company. They agreed to fix the other problems and give me the stereo with the 6 CD changer. To date they say the 6 CD changer is not available yet. I know that it is, because you can order one with it in it.

I'm getting ready to call again this week to see if it is in, and have other work done.

The 6 disc changer is built into the head unit. If you have a CD head unit, then you most likely have a 6 discu unit. See if you can load more than one CD. It will prompt you for a location you want the particular CD to be located. i.e. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5,6.

The window sticker will say if it is a 6 disk CD or not.

I definitely don't have one. I tried to load more than one when I got home with my truck and found out it didn't have one. Also the 6 CD changer has a load button as well, which mine doesn't have. I just wanted to make sure it really was available, because the dealer told me they didn't even make it yet.

He's wrong, they are out in the '04's. Hell, I have one in my '01 Cobra.

They are definitely available. I just removed it from my truck this weekend. I saw your photo gallery and see you have the single disc for sure. Call Ford and put the hammer down. Worst case scenerio I have one available, but you want it as part of your deal with Ford!

Thanks Daneo2, it's not a big deal whether I have one or not, it's just the fact that they said I had one and didn't. They've already promised me one, and now that I know for sure they are available, I'll put a little more weight on them. I've written Ford about the problems with Battlefield Ford, in Manassas, VA, but have yet to hear from them.

I guess it's time to make a phone call.
