You could try Zaino www.zainobros.com they have a synthetic polish that has a great shine and it leaves no residue on plastic what so ever…

As an alternative to using a synthetic that may not streak the plastic as bad....
Use a small piece of cardboard to 'cut in' around your black plastic molding.
Simply hold the cardboard in one hand and cut in with your applicator with the other. I've used this trick since I purchased my truck and have been very successful with the results...

Klasse polish/sealant
I use Klasse All-In-One polish and High Gloss Sealant Glaze. They are meant to be used on all hard, non-porous surfaces including glass and rubber and vinyl trim. No white residue whatsoever. Klasse is available from a number on on-line vendors, including this one: http://www.klassedirect.com/

That is a Lightning 3rd brake light which comes stock from the factory. I picked mine up on ebay about 1.5 years ago for around $100.
To my knowledge, they don't have them for the 04 *yet*.
