Versacover

I just recieved the mail from versacover. I thought they will have one for supercrew but apparently it is ready now for the other model with shortbed ( 6.5 ). Might just go with retrax. I am getting supercrew...

Here is the message I got.

Within the last 60 days, you expressed an interest in a VersaCover Tonneau for the 2004 (New Body Style) Ford F150 Short Bed (Std/Ext Cab) for a 6.5 ft. bed. As promised, you are now among the first customers to be notified that this cover is NOW AVAILABLE for your NEW 2004 Ford F150 Short Bed! In our system, this new cover is Model # 2070.

As a reminder, this cover is made of the exact same materials as all of our other covers (GELOY Plastics in collaboration with GE). One of the biggest features to note is that this is a completely gDrill-Lessh Installation. We have developed installation hardware specifically for the this model to be able to install the cover right on top of your existing plastic side rails and plastic tailgate protector without having to do any modifications whatsoever! As a result, the average installation takes less than 30 minutes! It is also very easy to handle as this cover as it weighs in at approximately 58 lbs!

Get your orders in early. Orders taken now will ship out this week. The 2004 New Body Style Ford F150 Short Bed (Model #2070) has just been added to the website so you can purchase the cover online at www.versacover.com at anytime (day or night), or by calling our toll free number below from 9AM to 6PM Monday through Friday.

My understanding is that Versacover is made by Undercover. I contacted Undercover last week about availability for the SCrew. They said that it would be about 45 days. So, we are looking at around Christmas time for them to come out. The SCrew cover that Versacover has listed on their website is for an 04 Heritage model. But their is no 04 SCrew Heritage. Anyway the one listed is for the old body style.

I too have been thinking of the Retrax and would get one if I was sure it was 100% waterproof. But I don't think that has been established. They sure look sweet, though.

I am thinking about getting a Versacover, but I want it to match the color of my truck. Where would I be able to take it to get that done and does anyone know how much it would cost me?

Do Versacover / Undercover only sell on the internet or can you find a local dealer to buy them?

There is a dealer in the DFW area that sells Undercover. I would think that it would apply to other areas of the country as well. Now, if they will just produce one for the Flareside bed, I'll be set.

According to their website, part #2070 is available for the F150 supercrew with a 5.5' bed. It's in the drop down lists on the purchase page. Part #2070 is for the 04 F150 new body style. I guess their website is wrong?
