I have only 1000 miles on my 2004 and have an anoying rattle coming from what seems to be behind the ash tray on bumpy roads......I tryed removing the ash tray from it's holder but that did not stop the rattle.Is anyone else having this problem.

 

thats funny you should say that, I had the same rattle but dismissed it as my ashtray is full of change. I'll take it out and check it tonight on the drive home.

 

I heard a rattle too, but it was my cell phone bouncing around in the cup holder.

 

If your cell phone is in a case with a belt clip, it hangs nicely on that useless coin holder on the dash!

 

Useless coin holder is where my 4x4 switch is I think.

Too bad. It would be nice place to mount PDA or iPod.

Now mines rattling , sounds just like the rest of you guys , coming from behind the ashtray or or near the floor shifter , anyone got a fix yet?

 

I've noticed that if I push the ashtray in a bit it stops or if I just open it and leave it open there is no rattle

I have a rattle too. Not every bump causes it though and it started after about 1500 miles. That's also the same time that I added CD's to the 6-disc indash changer.

Maybe a correlation between rattle and changer with CD's in it?
