Hmmm.... I wonder if anyone complaining about the lack of side AirBags also ride motorcycles........

I would assume that if someone is so adamant about Side AirBags, then they would believe that riding a motorcyle (regardless of helmet) is an absolute Death Wish.

Anyone...

Ahh, they probably wouldn't admit it anyway. It would be like "egg on your face".

It seems the general consensus is that "it would have been nice to have side air bags", but it is not stopping "most" from buying a vehicle without them.

Those who "refuse" to buy a vehicle without side air bags, I have a question:

What the hell did you drive before air bags became available?

Well I guess until then some of us will lay awake at night worrying about what's going to happen in a side impact crash......

I drove a '67 Buick Skylark with lapbelts in front and nothing in back. Once I plowed it into a VW Rabbit. The entire right rear of the VW was crunched. I had a little paint on my bumper. Do tanks have side airbags, or front only?

I like the airbag, burnsuit, helmet, rollcage, and Demolition Man foam options above. That would make me feel very safe on my way to soccer practice with the kiddies.

I will NEVER buy a vehicle with side airbags as along as I have children.

I think I'll start the bull bar debate again !!

Seriously...... it is getting a little tiresome seeing posts from people saying what is wrong with the new F 150 and why they will not buy one.

This is a forum for enthusiasts to talk about the trucks, pass comment, and maybe as has happened in previous threads, gently suggest how future improvements might be made.

But most important we are here because we like and enjoy the trucks regardless of the little foibles that all vehicles have.

Otherwise we all shouldn't be here......

We should be on the Daewoo or Fiat or Ferrari forums telling them what is wrong with their vehicles and why we won't buy them !

Dude, pointing out issues or possible problems are helpful, thats what message boards are all about. You do not have to agree or disagree. If it bothers you, then log OFF.

Please do not tell me to log off......otherwise I will tell you to something off !

Once again we have an example of someone assuming they have read or understood a post.

Why the **** don't you read carefully.....I repeat, we can calmly talk about points for improvement...and indeed I started that very thread some time ago.....the 2009 F 150 thread.

But there is no point in people constantly berrating the new F 150.....that was the point !
THEY are the ones who should log off.

Basically I think you've got a nerve telling me to log off in that pompous manner (You'll like that Trubluscru)....when you compare your meagre number of posts with mine, which are of course all so erudite. (That's irony, Trubluscru!)

And if you want what you describe as a flame war I will happily oblige.

( Not! ....because some of you are so blinkered and opinionated there's little point !)

Ta Ta.

The "realist" definitely helps Point out a LOT of issues and Problems of the new F150. That seems to be one of his main reasons to hang out here..

I know exactly what you're saying Lenticular.. It's cool if you own the truck or are seriously looking at getting one and point out a couple things here and there for discussion but just hanging out to belittle the Ford F150 in a Ford F150 Website?? Some people just have Way too much time on their hands..

Let me be the "Realist" for a second: A Ford F150 Website is intended for F150 enthusiasts to hang out and share stories and First Hand experiences with. As well as to help educate those interested in purchasing a F150. Hell, even those who can't afford one but just love the truck! I think we do a great job of being Honest about our trucks (we're usually one of the toughest critics) but comments like "Ford is more interested in Quantity, that Quality..." That's just not an honest statement, regardless how you look at it and if you Really feel that way I just don't understand why you'd hang out on an F150 Website. Get Real!

but by that statement that means this is a "lets praise Ford for no matter what they do" forum instead of "lets make a suggestion so that they get it right next time". I've seen a lot of that attitude here and it's pretty funny when you think about it. People are saying "Ford's are the best" here, yet whenever the REAL honest people start pointing out the miscellaneous idiosyncrasies and things that Ford did or didn't do the community gets hostile, usuall from the members that are the so-called Veterans of the community.

If something is broke, FIX IT. The fact is that Ford did leave out a LOT of options in their F-150, and have been over the years that they should really think about adding. If no one complains, then you'll never get a better vehicle. That's why you're seeing a lot of reviews saying it's "just another F-150"... because people like you don't want to insult their precious manufacturers that are too godlike to make mistakes *end sarcasm*

That could also explain why Ford has seemingly left out a ton of cab options and other fixings over the years. I bet when they did their market research they talked to people like Brewmaster who would say, "oh I love yoU!!!!! there's absolutely NOTHING wrong or missing or anything else I would like extra!". Everyone does market research for just about every new vehicle model year they create. Apparently Ford just has the most bias market talking to them, so they aren't learning what they should do.

This is a very strong and competitive market and pretty soon things like those side-curtain airbags will be a standard safety device, as well as many other options and amenities.

I love the new 2004 F150, looks, interior, style, ride. But, there are NO side airbags and no curtain airbags. I am pissed at Ford. Safety is the number one issue with me and others (edmunds also took note about the issue) and the latest studies prove side airbags and curtain airbags increase safety. It's 2004 and they omit the airbags!! As a result, I am tempted to go with the Titan, which has all the safety features, side, curtain, and navigation. Ford are you listening?
LOL...next he'll be complaining about how there is no back skip button so thats a safety defect due to the fact the driver wil have to reach over and press on the button on the dash, which is a distraction. Whats more it doesn't have Advanctrac(ford? (gm has thier own version))! No no wait. Trucks flip over more easily than cars so therefore ford dropped the ball on safety thus again.

Quit your bitchin!

I drive an 80' Lincoln with a ****ed up ECC, no airbags, slacking safety belts, a gas tank that explodes at 55 mph rear end collisions, it stalls when it likes and the most inconvient and dangerous times and also does some other weird dangerous stuff, my exhuast is shot from the headers(headers are fine just beyond that is gone) down so i'm constantly inhaling fumes at stops, i don't have anti-lock brakes, its rwd in a snowy area, my rear safety belts are actually just lap belts with no shoulder belt part, I have a leaky tranny and oil pan, and all four of my tires of slowly deflating.

My car is a mess. Yet i drive it with some frustration yes......but I have the rights to complain. I love my car though. Your ****ing driving a brand new truck that towers over any ****ing bigass car. With airbags, with anti-lock breaks, with a EFI system that won't fail anytime soon, full seatbelts, 4x4, stainless steel exhaust, trustworthy engine that powers a truck that can run circles around my car, a gas tank that doesn't explode easily along with skid plates, brand new tires, no leaky parts, and ur bitching about ****ing safety?!!!!!!!! WHAT THE **** IS WRONG WITH YOU?!

If your gonna complain may as well buy me a Lariat F-150 fully loaded.

Quit bleeding ur fake blood.......
