Fords Blunder with the 04 150
No its just bull****. There are people who are driving trucks from the 60's even 50's with like no safety features......and he's crying about a lack of safety bags.
I'm surprised that he doesn't wrap his kids up in bubble wrap.

Once again we have an example of someone assuming they have read or understood a post.
Why the **** don't you read carefully.....I repeat, we can calmly talk about points for improvement...and indeed I started that very thread some time ago.....the 2009 F 150 thread.
But there is no point in people constantly berrating the new F 150.....that was the point !
THEY are the ones who should log off.
Basically I think you've got a nerve telling me to log off in that pompous manner (You'll like that Trubluscru)....when you compare your meagre number of posts with mine, which are of course all so erudite. (That's irony, Trubluscru!)
And if you want what you describe as a flame war I will happily oblige.
( Not! ....because some of you are so blinkered and opinionated there's little point !)

I find your whole condescending superior attitude a bit tiring. The number of posts ("meagre" or otherwise) is irrelevant to asserting the value of a members contribution. To suggest otherwise, is the height of arrogance.

Clearly you revel in stirring the pot John. While I will defend any members right to free expression of their opinion (within the bounds of the stated Forum Policy), your form of baiting is not (IMO) an acceptable form of expression in this forum. I would kindly ask that you reconsider your decorum when posting here.
Everyone else: Please do not escalate differences of opinions in to flame wars, as it does nothing but detract from the quality of our forum. It is also disrespectful to our host, and goes against the policy we are asked to abide by.

Getting back on topic....
Given a choice, I would like to see side air bags avaialble on the F-150. I have survived a serious accident in which I was 'T-Boned' and feel it would have been a benefit to have had this extra safety feature.
Not so long ago, trucks mfg took advantage of the safety regulations that allowed trucks to get away with lesser safety standards than were similarly applied to passengar cars. One area that was oft cited as a problematic, was the doors and their lack of even minimal side impact protection. I think it is foolhardy to dismiss advances is automobile safety, simply because previous vehicles did not have such items available.
Ford has offerd side air curtains in their Expedition, so they do have some experience with them. IIRC, they were/are available at as an extra cost item. That would suit me fine, as that would allow those that find them objectionable, not to be forced in to paying for them; while allowing those that are willing to pay for them an opportunity to add this extra safety feature.

I did say it was "Irony" !!!
Did that not make it clear that I fully appreciate that the number of posts someone has made is no indication at all of the quality and validity of what someone has to say ?
(It was partly said on purpose to reiterate something another forum member had said previously).
One post or 1000, the views expressed are equally important.
And yes, I do sometimes say things to be perverse.
Also to sometimes divert to other allied topics....otherwise a forum which is blinkered in it's approach will in time become very bland, and eventually die a death.
That COULD happen eventually here as all those people who are requesting VIN mumbers and merely asking for basic information become bored and move away, once their new trucks are delivered and the novelty wears off.
And NO...I'm not saying it's wrong to see those posts....goodness knows that kind person who is looking up the VINS has the patience of a Saint !
And there are lots of things we all need to know about this new generation of vehicles. No one person can have all the answers and we rely on the generosity of people's time in giving us information that we would otherwise not know.
If I hadn't been able to see the "Sticky" at the top of the board, and hadn't benefitted from one particular person's kindness in giving me some ordering information, I would STILL be waiting for my overhead storage bins !
For this Forum to keep generating the high level of interest it has at the moment and to progress, there need to be issues raised that generate lively discussion.
(Which some people seem to be almost afraid of).
I am not the least offended by people's honest opinions and thoughts regarding what I say....after all I know I'm right.
(THAT'S IRONY !!!! I really don't take myself very seriously....life's too short !)

Remember, this is a freakin truck. If safety is your primary concern, maybe you should be looking at a different type of vehicle, say, like a Sherman tank. Or, you could always wear a helmet. I'll take my chances. This truck rocks, from a guy who just traded in a 2001 Pathfinder and was considering the Titan.

Well said!
If you don't think safety is a primary concern because it's a truck or your driving a 71 lincoln then don't comment on the issue.
I am sick and tired of reading sarcastic comments just because someone doesn't agree with you. Funny is one thing (and thankfully there are more of those than negative one's!), being an *** is something else. I guess it is to much talk radio.
Let's agree to disagree, but refrain from this condenscending(?) attitude. Do you act this way with everyone? I can see it now-agree with wife on 95% of things (5% being sex of course!) and taking this childish position when we don't agree.
Now what was this topic about

Safety is the number one issue with me and others (edmunds also took note about the issue) and the latest studies prove side airbags and curtain airbags increase safety. It's 2004 and they omit the airbags!! As a result, I am tempted to go with the Titan, which has all the safety features, side, curtain, and navigation. Ford are you listening?

If anyone bothered to look up the persons profile they would find that person does NOT list any vehicle. From that and the fact this person does not state they currently own a Ford make the next quote VERY relevant:

Seriously...... it is getting a little tiresome seeing posts from people saying what is wrong with the new F 150 and why they will not buy one.
This is a forum for enthusiasts to talk about the trucks, pass comment, and maybe as has happened in previous threads, gently suggest how future improvements might be made.
But most important we are here because we like and enjoy the trucks regardless of the little foibles that all vehicles have.
Otherwise we all shouldn't be here......
We should be on the Daewoo or Fiat or Ferrari forums telling them what is wrong with their vehicles and why we won't buy them !

It would have been different if this person had stated they currently own an F150 and don’t like the new 04 for what ever reason.
I have stated before, that except for the Lariat and FX4 the other models look like an afterthought as far as the interior goes they just look cheap as can be. That is much different then NOT owning a Ford and coming on and saying I hate all the new 04’s because of…
You all need to know a troll when you see one and Lenticular spotted one and called them out…
